I hope Leigh learns from our experience. It started out delightfully and we had several problems that did NOT relate to Northstar Mortgage Group. That being said it was a NIGHTMARE to close. They assured us that we could close by a certain date and time, they only reviewed our documents the day before, so when they found problems it delayed everything even though we had scheduled movers and such for the closing time we were assured could happen. They couldn't be bothered to show up to closing and only let us know our closing costs 35 minutes before we were set to close. I truly hope no one EVER has the same experience that my husband and I had. I also hope that Leigh has learned several things, not only about how to properly do this job, but also to not write checks with their mouth that they cannot cash.

The Northstar Mortgage team and Kate in particular made my home purchase seamless. No one could believe how quickly they got everything in place so that we could have an early closing. Kate made herself available at all hours to answer my many questions and to take phone calls when I needed more understanding and explanation. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and could explain things in terms that made sense to me. She was so supportive through this year and a half long search and truly had my best interests at heart. She sincerely wanted me to find the right place in this crazy market and when I did she went full speed ahead and made the final push with the closing an easy process. Grateful our paths crossed. We could not be happier with our experience with Northstar Mortgage. Kate was incredibly patient, helpful, thoughtful, and kind throughout the process (it was our first mortgage so we sure had a lot of questions and things to learn!). It felt like an effortless experience moving through all the pieces of the mortgage process with Kate, especially knowing that we were working with someone local that we could (and did) meet face to face with. The process felt much warmer and softer than working with a traditional big bank or national mortgage company. We wanted to feel like we were not just a number or name but our story, dreams, and goals (especially around multi-family properties) were understood and that Northstar was part of our team - and this was the case. We hope to continue to work with Northstar as we plan out and one day move forward with our dreams for our next property.

Brian and Kara are probably the best team a new home buyer could ever ask for. All of my concerns were resolved immediately and a lot of that involves work behind the scenes from them. We relocated from FL and were referred to Northstar by our longtime FL realtor. Northstar is excellent - Brian and Kara are extremely responsive and very efficient. Everything went smoothly on their end from start to finish, even with multiple complications on our end due to relocating/house hunting mostly from a distance. The mortgage was the most painless part of our move and that's definitely due to Brian/Kara - they were always ahead of the game on paperwork we needed and pivoted easily when we changed plans. Highly recommend - I genuinely can't imagine you'd find a better team to work with anywhere.

I worked with Brian Gagnon, and he was truly a life-saver. I found Brian after a previous broker relationship did not work out. It was specifically at a time when mortgage rates were peaking, and I thought my home was suddenly out-of-reach. Brian immediately stepped up and found me a lender and rate that saved my dream home, which I'm now enjoying to the fullest. Next time I need a home loan or looking to refinance, I'll be reaching out directly to Brian and will be recommending that everyone I know do the same.
